A Chinese business will Construct a solar Power Plant at a Saudi Port.

Xinhua reports from Riyadh The Saudi Authority for Industrial Cities and Technology Zones (MODON) and a Chinese solar energy infrastructure business have reached a deal for the construction of a photovoltaic production facility in Jeddah, the largest port city in the kingdom.

The new factory, which will be Arctech’s second major foreign plant after its Gujarat facility in India, would be approximately 97,000 square meters in size and have a projected production capacity of 3 gigawatts (GW), according to a statement made by Arctech Solar Holding Co. Ltd on Thursday. Majed Al-Argoubi, CEO of MODON, expressed his gratitude for the collaboration and emphasized how it fits with MODON’s objectives of promoting growth in Saudi Arabia’s technology zones and industrial cities.

Chairman of Arctech, Cai Hao, emphasized the importance of the partnership, saying it represents the company’s dedication to global sustainable development and is in line with its global strategic ambitions.

Regarding Arctech’s announcement, the two parties inked the deal on Thursday. Arctech, headquartered in Kunshan, eastern China, believes that localized production at the plant will allow for a supply capability of up to 10 GW.
