The Diriyah Contemporary Art Biennale's 2026 Creative Directors are Nora Razian and Sabih Ahmed

DIRIYAH — The third Diriyah Contemporary Art Biennale will be held in January 2026 in Diriyah, close to Riyadh, and its artistic directors are Nora Razian and Sabih Ahmed, according to the Diriyah Biennale Foundation. One of Saudi Arabia’s leading venues for contemporary art, the Diriyah Contemporary Art Biennale, is becoming more and more well-known worldwide. Both renowned artists Razian and Ahmed contribute a wealth of knowledge in curatorial techniques, intercultural communication, and creative exhibition tactics.

The curatorial approach of Razian and Ahmed will focus on themes of world-making, resiliency, and the passing down of knowledge and history across time. Their goal for the 2026 Biennale is to investigate participatory forms, archives, and artistic interventions that look back at the past while reimagining the future. Razian and Ahmed remarked, “We are honored to lead the Diriyah Contemporary Art Biennale’s third edition.”

“This Biennale is rapidly establishing itself as a major global platform for contemporary art, and we envision a program that fosters vibrant artistic imaginations, rooted in diverse histories and knowledge systems.” The UNESCO World Heritage Site of At-Turaif is located in the medieval town of Diriyah’s JAX District, a creative center that will host the 2026 Diriyah Contemporary Art Biennale.
