The 14th Gulf Theater Festival, which takes place in Riyadh from September 10 to 17, will feature some of the best plays and artists in the area, according to a statement from the Theater and Performing Arts Commission.
The commission’s members stated at a press conference that the goal of the event is to promote artistic collaborations and the sharing of knowledge within the GCC.
Sultan Al-Bazai, the commission’s CEO, Khalid Al-Baz, the festival’s general manager, and other officials were present at the function.
Six plays will be presented at the festival, in addition to seminars and workshops covering subjects including project management and concept generation.
The plays “The Sea” from Saudi Arabia, “I See You” from the United Arab Emirates, and “On the Other Side” from Bahrain are noteworthy.
Under the leadership of Culture Minister Prince Badr bin Abdullah bin Farhan, the festival is being held in the Kingdom for the first time.
The commission’s goal is to promote and enrich Gulf theater and Saudi Arabia by organizing international festivals.
