Saudi Arabia Holds the International Cat Show, Which Showcases Stunning Felines

RIYADH: This week, the nation’s first-ever International Cat Show brought together cat lovers from all across the Kingdom in the capital. As part of the Saudi Pet and Vet Expo, the World Cat Federation and the Middle East Cats Association organised the event, which took place at the Riyadh International Convention and Exhibition Centre. More than 200 cats competed in several categories during the event, which concluded on Wednesday. It gave breeders, pet lovers, and the general public a chance to express their affection for their furry companions and gain knowledge on safe pet keeping.

WCF President Anneliese Hackmann presided over the panel of judges, which was composed of professionals from all across the world. Physical characteristics such head structure, eye form, profile, chin, ear placement, body proportions, tail length, and coat quality were evaluated for the competing cats, all of them were between three months and a year old. The WCF awarded certificates, trophies, and ribbons to the top three winners in each category, while the runners-up received numerous practical pet care items.

“Life is only once, so I should try it out for once at least,” competitor Sara Binsaeed told Arab News. At least we tried, even if my cat doesn’t end up winning. Participants used the occasion to celebrate their kitties and make enduring memories with other cat lovers, echoing that spirit throughout the event.
