A Global Conference highlighting Trade and cultural Heritage is Held at Diriyah Gate

From December 8 to 9, the second Diriyah Global Seminar with the subject “Timeless Knowledge” was held by the Diriyah Gate Development Authority (DGDA).

Prince Fahd bin Saad bin Abdullah bin Turki, the governor of Diriyah, attended the event, which was titled “Crossroads of Trade and Tradition: Diriyah and Central Arabia’s Role in Global Exchange,” and it showcased the region’s rich cultural and commercial legacy.

“Caravans of Memories,” an exhibition at Bujairi Terrace that runs through December 15, will go hand in hand with the seminar. The display highlights Diriyah’s history and cultural heritage, which enhances the seminar.

This year’s lecture covered three interrelated facets of Diriyah’s heritage. It focused on the material legacy of trade and emphasised archeological, architectural, and environmental remains that demonstrate Diriyah’s historical significance as a trading hub.

Through participatory experiences such as oral history recordings, traditional poetry, and folk songs honoring Najdi customs, the seminar also examined intangible heritage. It also looks at textual heritage, including travelogues, manuscripts, and linguistic advancements that trace the historical and cultural history of Diriyah and the central area.

Through these initiatives, the seminar preserves Diriyah’s timeless cultural and historical contributions for future generations while highlighting its historical significance in international trade. — SPA.
