RIYADH — King Salman, the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, presided over the weekly meeting of the Saudi Council of Ministers in Riyadh on Tuesday. The meeting praised the positive results of recent media, cultural, and economic gatherings and conferences that took place in Riyadh. “All of these strengthened Riyadh’s standing as a major international center for innovation, investment, knowledge, and research. The Cabinet emphasized, “This achievement highlights the Kingdom’s remarkable progress and renaissance at all levels and in all aspects.”

“The Cabinet welcomed the adoption of a resolution by the UN General Assembly that requests an advisory opinion from the International Court of Justice regarding Israel’s obligations regarding the activities of the United Nations and other international organizations and states to benefit Palestinians in the occupied territories,” Minister of Media Salman Al-Dossary told the Saudi Press Agency after the session.

In addition to reflecting the worldwide consensus on the Palestinian people’s right to self-determination and the creation of an independent state, the resolution sought to assist the Palestinian people during difficult times. The resolution, which was proposed by Norway in collaboration with Saudi Arabia, received a favorable vote from the countries, which was acknowledged by the Cabinet.

The Cabinet was briefed at the beginning of the session on the Crown Prince and Prime Minister Mohammed bin Salman’s meeting with Iraqi Prime Minister Mohammed Shia Al-Sudani, which centered on regional developments and the two countries’ relationship.
