Today, Arcapita Group Holdings Limited (‘Arcapita’), a global alternative investment group, announced the construction of a state-of-the-art, 30,000 square metre build-to-suit warehouse in Dubai’s Jebel Ali Free Zone (JAFZA) in collaboration with DSV, a global logistics leader. Their partnership has grown significantly with this landmark project, which places a high priority on innovation and sustainability.
After a unique groundbreaking ceremony, Group AMANA, the top regional design-build firm, officially won the facility’s design and build contract and began construction. Within 11 months, AMANA wants to deliver a superior, more sustainable facility using offsite construction, modular construction, and BIM technology.
The warehouse will include cutting-edge automation technologies, LEED certification for energy efficiency, and be subject to green construction principles. It is meant to satisfy the highest international standards. Important sectors like healthcare, consumer and retail, technology, automotive, and industrial verticals will be supported by the facility.
The facility will include a huge covered outdoor storage area, a designated section for processing hazardous products including lithium batteries, and a capacity of 75,000 pallet positions. The warehouse will also offer specialised “white glove” logistics services for delicate and high-value products, especially for the luxury goods and healthcare industries.
