Madinah's Masjid Al-Fas'h has Been Painstakingly Renovated

RIYADH: Al-Fas’h Mosque, a historical treasure located north of Madinah at the base of Mount Uhud, reminds visitors of the Battle of Uhud, a crucial event in Islamic history. According to a recent Saudi Press Agency report, the site of Prophet Muhammad’s alleged prayer has a unique place in Islamic history and draws tourists from all over the world. Historian Dr. Fouad Al-Maghamsi emphasized the importance of Al-Fas’h Mosque in relation to Uhud’s larger historical landscape—which encompasses Wadi Qanat and Jabal Al-Rumah.

According to Al-Maghamsi, the ruins of Al-Fas’h Mosque are 6 meters long and 4 meters wide, with a stone wall about 1 meter high on three sides.. He continued that this monument, built with sturdy black stones, was part of a larger effort to rehabilitate ancient buildings. It has withstood the test of time and survived multiple repairs, most recently under the reign of King Salman.

The mosque’s straightforward yet eye-catching design includes a red brick mihrab and a rectangular prayer area. The Saudi Heritage Commission is in charge of recent restoration projects that have included a wooden roof, a floor with creatively placed yellow natural stones, paved walkways, benches, and educational signage.
