Saudi National Orchestra and Choir Program Celebrates First Graduating Batch

RIYADH — The first class of the Saudi National Orchestra and Choir Program graduated Monday in Riyadh with a ceremony hosted by the Ministry of Culture’s Music Commission. Prince Badr bin Abdullah, the Music Commission’s chairman and minister of culture, sponsored the event, which was attended by Hamed Fayez, the deputy minister of culture and vice chairman of the board of directors.

The graduates completed specialized educational and artistic programs designed by local and international specialists to improve their skills and develop their talents during the 24-month academic program. In a joyous occasion that showcased the nation’s pride in the accomplishments of its gifted youth, the graduates were recognized in six categories: academic excellence, excellence in development skills, excellence in support and assistance, excellence in musical leadership, and excellence in discipline and commitment.

The audience was mesmerized by a musical performance by the Saudi National Orchestra and Choir, which was conducted by Maestros Nader Abbasi and Reab Ahmed. In keeping with Saudi Vision 2030’s objectives to support the cultural and creative sectors, the Music Commission confirmed that this group is a significant step in the Kingdom’s music industry’s growth and in solidifying the country’s talent on the global scene.
