Saudi Arabia and Japan Celebrate 70 Years of Strong Diplomatic Ties in Riyadh

Saudi Arabia and Japan marked the 70th anniversary of their diplomatic relations in with a ceremony held in Riyadh on Monday. During the event of Saudi Vice Minister of Foreign Affairs Waleed Al-Khereiji emphasized the deep-rooted partnership between and the two nations noting that their cooperation since 1955 has contributed to both regional and global stability and prosperity.

Al-Khereiji said that continued joint efforts could further elevate the relationship between the two friendly countries. He added that the Saudi-Japan Vision 2030 has built a comprehensive strategic partnership aimed at achieving shared goals, according to the Saudi Press Agency (SPA). He also reaffirmed Saudi Arabia’s commitment to strengthening its ties with Japan and boosting mutual growth and development.

Saudi Arabia remains Japan’s main supplier of crude oil and while Japan serves as an important trade and investment partner for the Kingdom. Under the Saudi-Japan Vision 2030 framework, both nations are enhancing cooperation in various fields, including decarbonization, as highlighted by the Japanese Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
