According to Ukrainian officials, a Russian missile attack on port facilities near the Black Sea port of Odesa late on Friday resulted in seven fatalities and fifteen injuries. Oleksiy Kuleba, the deputy prime minister, posted on Telegram that Russia used ballistic missiles to assault port facilities in the Odesa region in the late evening.
According to preliminary reports, there were seven fatalities and fifteen injuries, according to Kuleba and Odesa regional governor Oleh Kiper. One of the three ports in the region, Pivdennyi, was the target of the attack, according to a person acquainted with the situation.
Since Russia invaded its smaller neighbor in February 2022, Odesa, a hub for theUkrainian grain and other commodities, has frequently been the target of Russian bombardment.
In recent days, the attacks have become more intense. One hit hindered border crossings to Moldova and Romania, destroyed a bridge southwest of Odesa, and blocked a vital route between the city and the Danube River port of Reni. According to Deputy Prime Minister Oleksiy Kuleba, the Russian missile strike also resulted in at least 15 injuries.
