Saudi Arabia Will Pave the Way in Technology

Naveed Sherwani, the chairman of the National Semi-Conductor Hub and a native of Pakistan, hopes to encourage the next generation of Saudis to contribute to the Kingdom’s status as a global leader in semiconductors.

“I think our goal is to encourage the Saudi people to participate in turning Saudi Arabia into a center for semi-conductors, not to create 50 businesses. The only way that can happen is if we all work together and make sure the next generation is engaged in the development of semi-conductors,” Sherwani told Arab News.

“We will need to get Saudi youth and Saudi engineers to get interested. The semiconductor industry is a crucial industry that cannot be run by foreigners, it must be run by Saudis,” the speaker stated.

The third Future of Semiconductors Forum was held in June of this year in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, by King Abdulaziz City for Science and Technology. The forum set out to create a path for thousands of high-value job opportunities and training for Saudi innovators in the semiconductor industry.

The National Semiconductor Hub, which intends to grow and localize the electronic chip sector in the Kingdom, was introduced as a component of the conference. Sherwani wants to help Saudi youngsters advance the semiconductor industry as its chairman.
