A comprehensive program to improve education and training standards in the tourist sector has been announced by Princess Haifa bint Mohammed Al-Saud, the Vice Minister of tourist in Saudi Arabia.
The Ministry of Tourism states that the initiative’s main goals will be to enhance educational offerings and match them with industry demands.
According to a Saudi Press Agency story on Wednesday, Princess Haifa hailed the launch as a significant step toward realizing the ministry’s objectives.
She stated that the Technical and Vocational Training Corp., the Education and Training Evaluation Commission, and UN tourist would evaluate 102 national tourist education and training programs in 2024.
The objective is to assist tourism establishments in obtaining professional certifications and both local and international accreditations.
Princess Haifa listed a number of goals: In 2024, 31 programs will be accredited both nationally and internationally; in 2025, 27 programs will become accredited; 200 trainers and staff members will obtain professional certifications to instruct and oversee tourism programs; and 37 employees of the Ministry of Tourism will receive professional management certificates.
She stated that in order to achieve the initiative’s objectives of increasing the competitiveness of the tourism labor market, elevating the Kingdom’s standing as a major travel destination, and creating job opportunities, the ministry was collaborating with both domestic and foreign partners.
