Five Saudi Military Officials Were Elevated to Important Roles

RIYADH: On Sunday, the Ministry of Defence said that King Salman of Saudi Arabia has granted a royal order to elevate five senior military personnel to important posts in the Kingdom’s armed forces.

According to a press release the ministry released on the X platform and its website, the officials received their new ranks from Defence Minister Prince Khalid bin Salman at his office. All five attained the new rank of Lieutenant General. Among them are Lt. Gen. Fahd bin Abdullah Al-Mutair, an advisor in the Office of the Minister of Defence, and Lt. Gen. Fahd bin Abdullah Al-Ghofaily, the deputy chief of the General Staff.

The other two are Lt. Gen. Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al-Ghuraybi, the chief of staff of the Naval Forces; Lt. Gen. Fahd bin Hamad Al-Salman, the commander of the Joint Forces; and Lt. Gen. Fahd bin Saud Al-Johani, the chief of staff of the Land Forces.

Assistant Defence Minister Talal bin Abdullah Al-Otaibi, adviser to the royal court Mutlaq bin Salem Al-Azima, and Chief of Staff of the General Staff Lt. Gen. Fayyadh bin Hamed Al-Ruwaili also attended the ceremony.

Hisham bin Abdulaziz bin Saif, Director-General Samir bin Abdulaziz Al-Tabib of the Office of the Minister of Defence, and Dr. Khalid bin Hussein Al-Bayari, Assistant Minister of Defence for Executive Affairs, were also present.
