RIYADH: Asif Nazrul, an adviser to the Bangladeshi Ministry of Law, Justice, and Parliamentary Affairs as well as the Ministry of Expatriates’ Welfare and Overseas Employment, stated that Bangladesh is dedicated to fulfilling Saudi Arabia’s need for trained labour.
Nazrul stated that there were plenty of chances for Bangladesh to send qualified and semi-skilled people, such as physicians, engineers, nurses, and technicians, during a meeting with owners and senior executives of Saudi businesses held at the Bangladesh Embassy in Riyadh.
Nazrul underlined the need for qualitative reforms in Bangladesh’s labour market in Saudi Arabia while attending the Global Labour Market Conference in Riyadh from Wednesday to Thursday at the invitation of the Saudi Ministry of Human Resources and Social Development.
He emphasised the numerous job opportunities arising from Saudi Arabia’s Vision 2030 projects, which include major international events like the FIFA World Cup (2034), the AFC Asian Cup (2027), the Winter Asian Olympics (2029), the World Expo (2030), and megaprojects like NEOM, Red Sea, Qiddiya, Green Riyadh, Amala, Diriyah, and Roshan.
He approached Saudi recruitment firms for assistance, and they agreed that there were qualified individuals in Bangladesh but highlighted issues like poor marketing, networking, information, and visa delays, as well as language hurdles and a lack of pre-boarding instruction.
