Admission to the Ibdaa Scientific Olympiad 2025 is Now Open

Registration for the National Olympiad for Scientific Creativity, or Ibdaa, has opened for the following year’s event. It is organized by the King Abdulaziz and his Companions Foundation for Giftedness and Creativity, or Mawhiba.

Saudi students in intermediate and secondary school may register for Ibdaa 2025 through September 30 if they have a scientific project in one of the 22 national priority areas.

The Olympiad consists of six stages: registration and training for students; project submission to the Mawhiba website; electronic project evaluation; local exhibitions and workshops; the Ibdaa Science and Engineering Fair; and the selection of students to participate in the Regeneron International Science and Engineering Fair in the United States in 2025.

Amal Al-Hazaa, the secretary-general of Mawhiba, has commended the collaboration with the Saudi Ministry of Education for its contribution in developing Saudi talent and raising students’ potential.

Out of 210,000 proposals, Mawhiba chose 180 projects for Ibdaa 2024. These projects included those in the fields of energy, chemistry, materials science, environmental engineering, biomedicine, health sciences, and plant sciences.

Thirty-five Saudi students competed in the Regeneron International Science and Engineering Fair in Los Angeles in 2024, up against 1,700 competitors from 70 countries.
