After a period of tense but mostly calm, Israeli forces resumed shelling southern Lebanon on Wednesday, focusing on border towns, valleys, and woods.
Following an airstrike on the settlement of Khiam, two injured individuals were transported to Marjayoun Hospital. Additionally, aircraft attacked Wadi Hujeir, as well as the perimeter of Qabrikha, the region between Aainata and Kounine, and the village of Bani Haiyyan.
“Warplanes shelled rocket-launch platforms in the areas of Kounine and Qabrikha in southern Lebanon,” according to the Israeli army. Additionally, the communities of Ramyah and Beit Lif’s perimeter were the target of Israeli artillery.
In the Israeli settlements of Zar’it, Shtula, Netu’a, Dishon, and Al-Malikiyah, as well as in Ramot Naftali in western Galilee, sirens went off.
According to the Israeli army, “firefighting teams worked to extinguish fires in several settlements in Upper Galilee that were caused by 60 rockets that were launched from Lebanon toward the northern region.”
Hezbollah said it launched attacks “targeting Israeli soldiers in the Zar’it barracks (the headquarters of the battalion affiliated with the Western Brigade) with artillery shells, hitting them directly” and shelled “the headquarters of the Sahel Battalion in the Beit Hillel barracks, and enemy artillery positions in Dishon with volleys of Katyusha rockets.”
