Creative rays: Noor Riyadh Ends after a successful Run

RIYADH: After 17 days of ingenuity, art, and culture, Noor Riyadh 2024 came to an end on Saturday.

With the theme “Light Years Apart,” the festival showcased works by over 60 Saudi and foreign artists in three locations: JAX District, Wadi Hanifa, and King Abdulaziz Historical Center. Each piece combined creativity and tradition, drawing inspiration from the Kingdom’s history and culture. The artworks highlighted the value of protecting natural resources and examined the relationship between people and the environment.

“Mangiah,” a light installation by Fahd Alnuaimah, displayed a caravan of white camels and brilliantly captured the essence of the desert. In the meantime, Saeed Gamhawi produced a sculpture made up of 21 illuminated columns that represented the union of the Kingdom and turned into a spectacular focal point of this year’s celebration.

Hmoud Al-Attawi’s interactive installation “Energy of Vision” reflected the Kingdom’s vision for a wealthy and bright future, becoming brighter when sensors sensed a person close by. According to the artist’s comment, the artwork illustrates “how human contributions are vital to growth and progress.”

Noor Riyadh 2024 curator Dr. Effat Fadag told Arab News that the festival is a great way to encourage artistic cooperation and knowledge sharing among Kingdom artisans.
