In an effort to support Saudi farmers, the Ministry of Environment, Water, and Agriculture on Wednesday launched the “Harvest Season” awareness campaign. The campaign’s goals are to increase the efficiency of the ministry’s marketing system and promote fruits grown locally.
According to the Saudi Press Agency, the introduction was a part of initiatives to promote a healthy lifestyle by purchasing local produce, increase awareness of the value of eating fruits grown nearby, and disseminate information about agricultural products.
“The campaign aims to educate the public about the health and nutritional benefits of various local fruits that are available in different seasons throughout the year, and to achieve a set of goals that are in line with the ministry’s policies and strategies and the objectives of Vision 2030,” stated Saleh Bindakhil, the official spokesperson for the ministry.
In line with Saudi Vision 2030, which aims to raise standards of living and improve quality of life, Bindakhil added that “Harvest Season” also supported local product production, improved quality and safety, raised awareness of agricultural produce and the health benefits of eating local fruits, assisted in the marketing of local goods, and supported local farmers by increasing their income.
