Grouper is the Most Popular Catch, and the Haql Fish Market Soars

Both residents and visitors are swarming the fish market in the Haql governorate in the Tabuk region to buy a broad range of fresh seafood, which is causing the market to flourish.

According to the Saudi Press Agency, demand has increased significantly during the summer, with grouper and coral grouper emerging as the most sought-after catches.

A wide variety of seafood, including shrimp, lobster, and other favorites, are available at the market.

A local dietician named Amani Alomrani spoke with the SPA about the advantages of eating a diet high in fish. Fish, being high in protein, vitamins, and minerals, is essential for sustaining a diet that is well-rounded.

Because of their high iron content, high vitamin B12 content, and ability to build teeth and bones through vitamin D, they are very good for the nervous system. Fish can help lower cholesterol and is low in saturated fat, which lowers the risk of heart disease.

Alomrani did note that some fish species, such as mackerel, shark, and swordfish, might have elevated mercury levels. Thus, fish with reduced mercury levels, such salmon and shrimp, should be chosen with caution by expectant mothers, nursing moms, and kids.

Because of the favorable natural circumstances in Haql, there is a booming fishery industry that guarantees a steady supply of popular fish species.
