An Israeli Strike in Lebanon Claimed the Lives of Two Hezbollah Fighters

Drones over south Lebanon carried anti-Hezbollah messaging, while an Israeli strike near the border killed two Hezbollah fighters, according to a source close to the Lebanese organization and Israel’s military on Friday.

Since October 7, when the Palestinian terrorist group attacked Israel, Hezbollah and Israeli forces have engaged in almost constant gunfire in support of Hamas, an ally. This has led to a conflict in Gaza.

But after Hezbollah’s top military commander was killed in an Israeli raid on Beirut’s southern suburbs last week, only hours before Ismail Haniyeh, the political head of Hamas, was slain in Tehran and Israel was held responsible, worries of a full-scale conflict escalated.

Hezbollah and Iran have promised retaliation.

Two of Hezbollah’s militants were “martyred on the road to Jerusalem,” as the group refers to fighters slain by Israeli fire, the organization announced in separate announcements on Friday.

The two were slain “in an Israeli strike in Naqura,” according to a source close to the Iran-backed organization who asked to remain anonymous.

In a statement, the Israeli army said that “two Hezbollah terrorists were identified exiting a military structure belonging” to the organization in the Naqura region and that the agents had been “eliminated” by air forces.
