Dr. Mohammed bin Abdulkarim Al-Issa, the Secretary-General of the Muslim World League( MWL), recently attended the Africa Youth Forum in Nairobi as an honorary guest.
The forum’s goal was to give young people a stage on which to talk about their problems with well-known civic, governmental, and religious leaders.
Al-Issa addressed the event, touching on a number of important topics pertaining to youth in the present and the future. He underlined how important it is for young people to shape their countries’ futures and how important it is to put policies in place that give priority to things that are important to them, like education.
He talked on alarming young numbers, especially when it comes to education, emphasizing how difficult it is for girls in particular because they are denied an education based just on their gender.
Al-Issa stressed the need for a coordinated effort to pinpoint and remove the obstacles preventing youth from obtaining high-quality education, emphasizing that everyone must share responsibility for coming up with workable answers.
He also talked about the importance of youth in charity initiatives, the impact of radical beliefs on certain young people, and the role that youth play in promoting communication between adherents of many religions and cultures.
