RIYADH: On the fringes of the 61st Munich Security Conference in Germany, Gulf Cooperation Council Secretary-General Jasem Albudaiwi met with Adm. Giuseppe Cavo Dragone, the chairman of the North Atlantic Treaty Organisation Military Committee.
The Saudi Press Agency said on Saturday that the two sides discussed the most recent regional and global events during the meeting, with particular attention to the situation in Gaza and the surrounding area. The head of the GCC emphasised the necessity of stepping up global efforts to alleviate Palestinian suffering and guarantee the provision of humanitarian aid.
Albudaiwi reiterated the GCC’s dedication to both international humanitarian aid and regional stability. Dragone praised the GCC states’ standing in regional and global fora and underlined their critical role in preserving security and stability on a regional and global scale.
