According to fresh data, in the first half of 2024, there were 505 new firms registered on the Qatar Financial Centre platform, a 230 percent increase from the previous year.
This increase raises the total number of businesses on the QFC platform to over 2,200, according to a mid-year progress report, as published by Qatar News Agency.
The data additionally demonstrated that, at nearly 38 percent, the technology sector represented the greatest proportion of enterprises that were registered.
The company’s significant presence at the Web Summit 2024 in Doha in February, where it provided exclusive incentives for companies enrolling during the event, is primarily responsible for this representation.
The increase was also a result of QFC’s initiatives to diversify the economy, increase the amount of foreign investment coming in, and establish the nation as a premier tech hub in the area.
Additionally, according to QFC data, 10% of all new organizations that joined the center’s platform in the first half of 2024 were from the financial services industry.
These companies span a wide range of industries, including consulting services, fintech, IT, and innovation, and the bulk of them originated in the US, India, and Jordan.
QFC also signed a number of collaboration agreements and collaborations in the first half of 2024, creating 12 memorandums of understanding with significant national and international organizations.
