Pakistan Wants to Convert to Green Energy With $100 Billion

At the World Governments Summit in Dubai, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif states that his nation needs to invest in renewable energy. He has already visited Abu Dhabi to meet with UAE President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed. London: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif told the World Governments Summit in Dubai on Tuesday that Pakistan needs to invest $100 billion to make the switch to sustainable energy.

During his visit to the Emirates, Sharif met with President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed before speaking at the conference. He said in his speech that sustainability and energy security have emerged as a “national priority” at the heart of the government’s economic strategies. By 2030, Pakistan wants to have 30% of all vehicles run on electricity and 60% of its energy come from renewable sources.

According to Sharif, Pakistan is “rapidly scaling up solar, wind, hydro power, and nuclear energy.” International collaborations and financial assistance are still essential to the nation’s transition away from fossil fuels, even as it uses domestic resources and legislative changes to accomplish these objectives.

Sharif stated that $100 billion must be invested in Pakistan’s energy revolution alone. “I urge governments to enhance climate finance and technology exchange, private investors to investigate Pakistan’s green energy and infrastructure prospects, and multilateral organisations to assist developing nations such as Pakistan in attaining sustainable development.”
