Prince Khalid bin Salman Talks with Italian Businesses on Military Cooperation

On Wednesday, Saudi Defence Minister Prince Khalid bin Salman met with the leaders of significant Italian businesses to discuss the potential for collaboration in the areas of research and development and military sectors. In line with Vision 2030, they also talked about issues like localisation and technology transfer.

The encounter took place during Prince Khalid bin Salman’s ongoing official visit to Italy, where he is reviewing bilateral relations, talking about potential areas of cooperation, and talking about topics of mutual interest.

Hisham bin Saif, director general of the Minister’s Office; Ibrahim Al-Suwaid, undersecretary of the Ministry for Procurement and Armament; Maj. Gen. Eng. Abdul Hadi Al-Omari, military attaché at the Saudi embassy in Rome; Dr. Khaled Al-Bayari, assistant minister for executive affairs; and Gen. Fayyadh Al-Ruwaili, chief of the General Staff, were among those present at the meeting with the Italian companies.

Rtd Lt Gen. Enzo Vecciarelli, advisor to the Minister for Military Industrial Policies, Stefano Pontecorvo, chairman of Leonardo’s board of directors, Biagio Mazzotta, chairman of Fincantieri’s board of directors, Enzo Benigni, chairman and CEO of ELT Group, and several other high-ranking officials from the companies attended the meeting on the Italian side.
