RIYADH: Crowne Plaza Riyadh RDC was packed on Tuesday as the second Athar Saudi Festival of Creativity got underway. Nearly 2,000 professionals and leaders from the creative marketing sector are anticipated to attend the festival, which is being hosted by Motivate Media Group, a UAE-based company, and communications consultant TRACCS. It will include 100 regional and international speakers.
Motivate Media Group managing partner and group editor-in-chief Ian Fairservice will serve as the event’s chair, while TRACCS CEO Mohammed Al-Ayed will serve as vice chairman. “Athar has a role in bringing together the creative community and the marketing community,” Fairservice stated in an interview with Arab News. “The goal of Athar is to establish a community, even if it is only for a few days, where people can gather, talk, exchange ideas, and create new ones.”
He emphasised how many more people showed up this year than at the event last year. “Compared to last year, all of our numbers have essentially doubled. Nearly 2,000 people have signed up, and from what you can see, the place is humming. The main stage is fully occupied. He remarked, “There are probably a hundred people watching our first keynote speaker today from the back.” “As for other figures, we have 400 entries for tomorrow night’s awards, and 211 of them have been shortlisted.”
