RIYADH: Asaad Hassan al-Shibani, Syria’s recently appointed foreign minister, stated in a post on X on Friday that he shared the goal of forming an efficient and partnership-based government that incorporates all Syrian elements while on a visit to Saudi Arabia.
According to al-Shaibani, Saudi Arabia reaffirmed its willingness to support Syria’s unity and territorial integrity as well as take part in its resurrection. Saudi Arabia has shown its support for the Syrian people and the new Syrian government, the minister said.
According to the Saudi Press Agency, Prince Faisal reaffirmed the Kingdom’s support for Syria’s independence, sovereignty, and territorial integrity while highlighting initiatives to provide security, stability, and prosperity to the Syrian people.
According to SPA, the talks also centered on strengthening Syria’s capacities, protecting its governmental institutions, and easing its reintegration into the Arab and Islamic nations. Prince Musab bin Mohammed Al-Farhan and ambassadors Saud Al-Sati and Faisal Al-Majfal were among the high-ranking Saudi officials present.
On Wednesday, al-Shibani arrived with a high-level Syrian team that included Anas Khattab, the head of intelligence, and Defense Minister Marahf Abu Qasra. Saudi Deputy Foreign Minister Waleed Elkhereiji greeted them at King Khalid International Airport.
