Saudi Arabia's Digital Clinic Will Expand the Options For Treating Autism

RIYADH: The Society of Autism Families is preparing to open the Kingdom’s first digital clinic, which will be staffed by a group of professionals, including doctors and specialists, in the wake of the success of the Taif Aziz Caravan for individuals with autism.

The first caravan to cross Saudi Arabia was the Taif Aziz Caravan. It was introduced by the Society of Autism Families in June 2023 and provided free services, expert medical consultations, and integrated healthcare services to individuals with autism spectrum disorder and their families.

Taif Aziz Caravan promoted early detection of autism spectrum disorder in partnership with the Ministry of Health and the Ministry of Human Resources and Social Development. The convoy traveled around 12,000 kilometers over the course of approximately four months.

“This award holds immense importance for social work worldwide,” the organization’s head, Prince Saud bin Abdulaziz Al-Farhan Al-Saud, told Arab News. Receiving it for our creative Taif Aziz Caravan project is a merited acknowledgement of the association’s outstanding community service. “Our work is ongoing and boundless, driven by a passionate commitment to serve,” he added, introducing the digital clinic project.

He continued by saying that individuals with autism throughout the Kingdom will get therapeutic, medical, and rehabilitative treatments from the Digital Autism Clinic. “God willing, this is only the start of our plans for greater advancements in this field.”
