RIYADH — During a reception held ahead of Austria’s National Day, Ambassador Oskar Wustinger praised the robust economic and diplomatic ties between Austria and Saudi Arabia, describing them as a partnership founded on mutual respect and expanding collaboration.
Wustinger highlighted that Austrian exports to the Kingdom grew by 49 percent in 2024, while Saudi imports to Austria rose by 29 percent growth he described as “impressive and promising for future cooperation”. He emphasized that the Austrian companies are an eager to participate in Saudi Vision 2030 particularly in infrastructure, renewable energy, and mining projects, aligning with the Kingdom’s drive for diversification and innovation.
Present at the event were senior Saudi officials and diplomats, including Faisal Al-Sudairy, undersecretary of the Riyadh region, who represented Riyadh Gov. Prince Faisal bin Bandar. The ambassador also noted Austria’s increasing engagement through of frequent trade missions and highlighted tourism as a this growing area of bilateral partnership, with over 200,000 Saudis visiting Austria in 2024 a record-breaking figure that continues to rise.
