RIYADH: To improve security relations between Saudi Arabia and Djibouti, senior officials from both nations have met. Prince Abdulaziz bin Saud bin Naif, the interior minister of Saudi Arabia, recently met with Dya-Eddine Said Bamakhrama, the ambassador of Djibouti in Riyadh and the dean of the Diplomatic Corps. They talked over a number of topics of shared interest, such as “security cooperation and ways to strengthen them between the relevant sectors,” Bamakhrama told Arab News.
According to him, a Joint Security Committee facilitates yearly talks between the two countries. The group will meet in Djibouti in February of next year after holding its third meeting in Jeddah in September. The two countries decided to start a maritime trade initiative in August of this year. To improve connectivity with East African markets, which cater to a customer base of almost 500 million people, new shipping lines are part of this. Prince Abdulaziz bin Saud bin Naif and Said Bamakhrama had talks, and the two countries decided to start a maritime commerce venture.
