Saudi-Owned Humain Chat App Officially Launches in the Kingdom

RIYADH: On Tuesday, Saudi Arabia made the Arabic AI app Humain Chat available to its citizens. The conversation, which is the first application in Humain’s AI suite, is driven by the ALLAM 34B Arabic model, which was developed in Saudi Arabia by Saudis.

Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman launched Humain, an artificial intelligence company owned entirely by the Public Investment Fund, in May with the goal of creating large language models in Arabic and establishing the Kingdom as a global center for AI innovation.

The program is accessible via a web browser and iOS and Android devices, and it will soon be released in other Arabic-speaking nations. The launch of HUMAIN Chat is a point of pride for Saudi Arabia, marking an important day in our mission to establish sovereign AI that is both technically mature and socially authentic,” stated Tareq Amin, CEO of HUMAIN.

The 350 million Arabic speakers worldwide will benefit from ALLAM, which was developed from the ground up by a group of more than 120 AI experts, including 35 Ph.D.-level researchers in the Kingdom. One of the largest Arabic datasets ever gathered is used to train the model, which is also available in English. It is then improved with feedback from more than 600 domain experts and 250 evaluators. According to the Saudi Press Agency, the outcome is unparalleled proficiency in Arabic and profound adherence to Islamic, Middle Eastern, and cultural nuances.
