The Global Labour Market Conference Sees 31 Deals to Give Training and Career Possibilities in Saudi Arabia

RIYADH: At the Global Labour Market Conference, Saudi Arabia signed 31 agreements to improve training, leadership development, and career prospects for graduates and people with disabilities through specialised skills and education. The agreements and memoranda of understanding, which will be signed in Riyadh on January 29-30, will also contain a number of development initiatives, educational programs, and knowledge exchanges aimed at empowering various segments of society, according to the Saudi Press Agency.

The accords come as the Kingdom aims to increase employment, having recently reduced its unemployment rate objective to 5% by the end of the decade, down from 7% previously, as part of Vision 2030’s ambitions. The Saudi Logistics Academy has signed four agreements to improve the Kingdom’s status as a worldwide logistics hub.

The first MoU was signed with the International Federation of Freight Forwarders Associations, and it aims to strengthen collaboration in the development of skills and vocational training in the freight and logistics services industries. Under the terms of the agreement, both parties agreed to share information and knowledge to help the country’s logistical transformation.

The academy signed a second MoU with the Spanish ACEX Association to create a collaborative framework for improving human resources in road maintenance and operation. This collaboration focusses on offering specialised training programs and encouraging the exchange of best practices in order to achieve common goals.
