Saudi Red Crescent Showcases Medical Vans For Pilgrimage Services

JEDDAH: At the Hajj Conference and Exhibition in Jeddah, the Saudi Red Crescent Authority is demonstrating cutting-edge technologies aimed at boosting pilgrim services. The authority is installing modern 4×4 ambulances that are linked to control centres to improve response times and medical services. According to the Saudi Press Agency, the authority has also introduced the Spider motorcycle, which is geared for speedy deployment in emergencies, particularly in busy locations like Makkah and Madinah.

The vehicle is outfitted with critical medical equipment, including oxygen cylinders and immobilisation splints, to respond to situations such as asthma attacks and cardiac arrests. The authority also unveiled the Middle East’s first amphibious vehicle, capable of navigating tough terrain, water, and muddy locations, according to the SPA. It can transport two patients and six additional persons and can operate continuously for up to 19 hours. The Hajj Conference and Exhibition runs till January 16.  Spider motorcycles are made to be quickly deployed in an emergency.
A medical amphibious vehicle can carry two patients and run continuously for up to nineteen hours.
