RIYADH The Absher Tuwaiq Hackathon 2025, described as the world’s largest hackathon, finished this weekend with the announcement of finalist teams vying for prizes totaling SR1 million ($266,000), demonstrating Saudi Arabia’s efforts to establish itself as a global hub for digital innovation.
Innovators from across the Kingdom came together for the three-day hackathon, organized by the Ministry of Interior in collaboration with Tuwaiq Academy, to develop digital solutions that aligned with the ministry’s digital transformation objectives.
Shadow, Wusool, Watheeq, Tanabbah, HRS, Ikhlaa, Amal, Mustabiq, Al-Dahna, Inspire, Saqour Al-Watan, Thaqib, Sawt Al-Mustaqbal, Manee, and YS Advance International were the finalist teams honored for their work.
The competition offered cash awards, SR450,000 in National Technology Development Program support, and incubation chances at Invi Lab to assist teams in transforming prototypes into products that are ready for the market.
The hackathon has created significant momentum across the country, according to Tariq Al-Hamid, the official spokesperson for the Absher Conference, who talked with Arab News.More than 4,000 people from all around the Kingdom attended this year’s event, which he described as “a reflection of the growing national enthusiasm for digital innovation.
