According to Sources, Saudi Arabia did not assist in Thwarting Iranian Attacks on Israel.

RIYADH: On Monday, reliable sources refuted to Al Arabiya Saudi Arabia’s involvement in stopping Iranian drones during their strike on Israel on Saturday.An anti-missile system operates after Iran launched drones and missiles toward Israel, as seen from Ashkelon, Israel April 14, 2024.

Statements purportedly from an official Saudi website had appeared on Israeli news websites, claiming that Saudi Arabia was a member of the defense coalition that had faced Iranian strikes. The sources told Al Arabiya that “no official website published a statement about Saudi participation in intercepting attacks against Israel.”

“Al Arabiya was informed by the sources that Saudi Arabia was involved in intercepting attacks against Israel, but no official website has released a statement on the subject.”

Iran said that it was responding to multiple crimes, including the attack on its consulate in Damascus on April 1, by launching drones and missiles into Israel on Saturday night and into Sunday morning. According to Tehran, the attack was directed for military targets, but the Israeli army declared that it had intercepted 99 percent of the Iranian missiles.
