Arrest Warrant Issued Against Ex-Netanyahu Aide by Israeli Police

JERUSALEM: On Monday, Israeli police issued an arrest warrant for a former adviser to Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, alleging that he was involved in two matters pertaining to the premier’s office.

Former Netanyahu campaign aide Israel Einhorn, who now resides in Serbia, was named on a list of individuals the police believe were involved in the alleged “Bild affair” and are barred from contacting the prime minister’s office.

According to a document presented to the court, a line stating that there is a “pending arrest warrant against him” was put next to Einhorn’s name. Netanyahu claimed the arrest warrant demonstrated he was being targeted through his former advisers in a post on his own Facebook page.

He claimed in a Hebrew video message, “They can’t beat me in elections, so they start a lawsuit, the lawsuit falls apart, so they bring in my advisers one by one to try to blackmail them. In September 2024, the Israeli military leaked confidential intelligence to the German tabloid Bild, which led to the Bild scandal. For the leak, two further Netanyahu associates were detained and charged.
