Artists Explore Beauty in a Diriyah Exhibition, Proving that Opposites Attract

Artists Explore Beauty in a Diriyah Exhibition, Proving that Opposites Attract.

RIYADH: The theme of “intricate dance of opposites” is explored by seven artists and one creative Beauty studio from the Kingdom in Shashai Studio’s most recent exhibition, “Delicacy of Dualities.”

A collection of provocative paintings and installations by artists Nada Al-Ali, Maan Alabbadi, Nouf Alsharif, Rasha Saddiq, Abdullah Al-Bugami, Eida Alzahrani, Ahmad Haddad, and Makhtut Studio are on display at the exhibition in Diriyah’s Jax District.

Every artist, like Al-Bugami, who devoted his three pieces to the potent duality of woman and man, conveys a profound and intimate tale. The burqa is a traditional garment that covers the entire body and has a mesh screen covering the face. Some women may choose to wear it in traditional and conservative societies, such as some parts of Saudi Arabia.

The burqa is regarded as the badu woman’s identity. Because it’s black, some might interpret it as sad or quiet, but I chose to depict my aunt, who is in her seventies, whose face I have never seen,” the man stated. I once unintentionally caught sight of her face and could not identify her. That said, I experience a profound sense of love and belonging when I greet her behind the veil.
