RIYADH: Oracle Corp., a technology company, has formally opened its second public cloud region in Riyadh to customers. The area provides services for data analytics, artificial intelligence innovation, and application modernisation.
The introduction is a component of a $1.5 billion effort to improve the digital infrastructure in Saudi Arabia. Oracle Cloud Infrastructure will be made available to public and private sector organisations in the Kingdom through the Riyadh cloud region, enabling them to update their applications.
The company’s dispersed cloud strategy includes this growth, which comes after it established a region in Jeddah and previously announced plans to open another in NEOM.
Oracle’s senior vice president and general manager of EMEA Cloud Infrastructure, Richard Smith, disclosed the company’s advanced plans for its third data centre in Dammam during a launch event in Riyadh.
Oracle’s Senior Vice President of Technology Cloud in the Middle East and Africa, Nick Redshaw, stated in an interview with Arab News that the demand for virtual services has been steadily rising. Redshaw highlighted that in addition to these regions, the company had introduced a sovereign capability in collaboration with stc, which is important for government clients who face stricter regulatory requirements
