Crown Prince and Macron to Lead Two-State Solution Conference in New York

Crown Prince and Macron to Lead Two-State Solution Conference in New York

French President Emmanuel Macron announced on Tuesday that he had spoken with Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, and the two leaders will co-chair the Conference on the Two-State Solution in New York on September 22.

Macron strongly criticised Washington’s decision to deny visas to Palestinian officials, describing it as “unacceptable” and calling for it to be reversed in accordance with the UN Host Country Agreement to ensure Palestinian participation.

He emphasized that the goal of the conference is to rally the broadest possible international support for the Two-State Solution, which he described as the only path to fulfilling the legitimate aspirations of both Israelis and Palestinians. Macron said progress requires a permanent ceasefire, the release of hostages, large-scale humanitarian aid deliveries to Gaza, and the deployment of a stabilization mission.

He further noted that discussions are underway to ensure Hamas is disarmed and excluded from governance, while the Palestinian Authority is reformed and strengthened, alongside Gaza’s full reconstruction. Macron concluded by urging global unity, calling the September 22 conference a potential turning point for peace and security in the region.
