RIYADH: Ararat Mirzoyan, Armenia’s minister of foreign affairs, told  News in an exclusive interview on Thursday that the country is dedicated to creating a “road map” for the growth of diplomatic ties with Saudi Arabia. The minister was visiting the Kingdom at the time of the interview.

During a comprehensive conversation covering the evolution of relations, the South Caucasus peace process, and the Gaza war, Mirzoyan stated that the November 2018 establishing of formal diplomatic ties was just the beginning.

We have historically had cordial ties with the Arab world and all of the Arab nations, and these ties have their roots in the historically cordial ties that exist between our peoples—that is, between the Arab people and the Armenian people,” the speaker stated.

Furthermore, it is vital to keep in mind that a large number of Arab nations hosted Armenian refugees who had survived the Armenian genocide. Naturally, though, the relationships and cultural linkages existed even before that.

On Wednesday, Mirzoyan visited the Saudi Ministries of Education and Economy in Riyadh and met with his counterpart, Prince Faisal bin Farhan.
