BERLIN: According to German government spokesperson Stefan Kornelius, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky will visit Berlin on Monday to meet with European leaders, including the leaders of the EU and NATO.
Zelensky will speak with Chancellor Friedrich Merz about “the status of peace negotiations in Ukraine” at a German-Ukrainian business gathering. Kornelius stated on Friday. He stated in a statement that “many European heads of state and government, as well as the leaders of the EU and NATO, will join the talks in the evening.” According to a UK government official, British Prime Minister Keir Starmer will be one of the leaders present for the negotiations in Berlin. The meeting will be a part of a diplomatic frenzy over a plan that US President Donald Trump first put forth last month to put an end to the conflict in Ukraine.
On Wednesday, Ukrainian officials said that they had delivered Washington a revised plan that expanded on Trump’s initial 28-point proposal. Following their meeting at Number 10 Downing Street in central London on December 8, 2025, French President Emmanuel Macron (R) and British Prime Minister Keir Starmer (2nd R) watch as Germany’s Chancellor Friedrich Merz (2nd L) embraces Ukraine’s President Volodymyr Zelensky .
