In the presence of many foundation representatives and Mawhiba Secretary-General Dr. Amal Al-Hazzaa, students at the 56th International Chemistry Olympiad in Riyadh completed their competition exams on Friday, which was organized by King Abdulaziz and his Companions Foundation for Giftedness and Creativity.
Bringing together students and their supervisors, the celebration included a number of well-liked activities that showcased the cultural legacy of the Kingdom.
The Saudi Ardah dance was performed for the delegates, and camels pulling howdahs stood ready to greet the competitors, signifying the journey they would be taking as part of the International Chemistry Olympiad.
333 students from over 90 nations are participating in the global event, which ends at the end of this month. They are being supervised by 260 international chemical specialists.
The main tent housed a variety of events, including a falconry demonstration and a display of handicrafts with models made of wickerwork.
A number of squares and tents were erected to highlight the Kingdom’s extensive history with a variety of exhibits, including swords and tools that have been used in the area for many years.
