As part of Jeddah Season 2024, the South Asian community in Jeddah gathered for a lively cultural festival at the Equestrian Club on Friday.
Prominent Saudis, members of the media, and cultural icons were among the attendees of the event, which included a varied mix of music, dancing, and cultural events.
Popular Indian performers, such as rapper Dabzee, vocalists Salman Ali and Nikhita Gandhi, actor Gauahar Khan, and the Sangeet Dance Crew, displayed their talents at the concert.
Ali’s strong vocals enthralled the audience, lighting up the stage and evoking a vibrant response from the spectators.
“I love the energy of the audience,” Ali remarked, “because they sang along with me and danced to the songs.”
Gandhi, who is well-known for her well-liked Bollywood songs, expressed her happiness at having such a big crowd to perform for.
“What unites us all is the music,” she remarked. For any musician, the most satisfying thing is to see a sea of faces singing along to their songs.
Even though it was quite hot, host Khan was thrilled with the experience. The contagious energy of the audience and their admiration for the music and cultural events touched her.
Even in the face of less-than-ideal conditions, she continued, “it was heartwarming to see so many people come together to celebrate Indian culture.”
