Makkah and Madinah are Expected to See Moderate to Heavy Rains

Forecasts for the holy towns of Makkah and Madinah, as well as a portion of the western and southern regions, call for moderate to heavy rains, strong gusts, and thunderstorms.

“Gusty winds will blow and moderate to heavy rain and hail may fall in parts of Jazan, Aseer, Al-Baha, Makkah, and Madinah,” the National Center of Meteorology stated in its forecast on Thursday.

A red signal has been issued for the Madinah region, and parts of Hail and Tabuk may see light to moderate rain. In certain areas of Riyadh, the Eastern Region, and Najran, there will be winds that stir up dust.

As the areas prepare for intense rains, the General Directorate of Civil Defense in Saudi Arabia has also released safety instructions and meteorological advisories.

People are asked to take the necessary safety precautions, stay indoors during inclement weather, and follow safety recommendations if they are in Makkah, Madinah, Najran, Jizan, or any other place where the NCM has expected moderate to heavy rainfall.

The General Directorate on X stated, “The Civil Defense calls for caution and following instructions due to the weather conditions witnessed in these regions.”
