More than $185 million was donated to Gaza by Saudi Arabia, according to Deputy Foreign Minister Eng. Walid Al-Kheraiji. The deputy minister reiterated Saudi Arabia’s condemnation and rejection of all crimes committed against the Palestinian people by the Israeli occupation forces during her address to the 50th session of the Council of Foreign Ministers of the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) on Thursday in Yaoundé, the capital of Cameroon.
According to him, “tens of thousands of Palestinians have lost their lives as a result of the Israeli occupation forces’ disregard for international laws and resolutions. The majority of these victims are women, children, and innocent civilians. This has happened in the absence of global accountability and the Security Council’s inability to take deterrent action.
Through the popular campaign to provide relief to the Palestinian people in the Gaza Strip launched by the King Salman Centre for Relief and Humanitarian Aid (KSrelief), Al-Kheraiji emphasised that Saudi Arabia continues to provide relief aid to civilians in the Gaza Strip with popular participation. He said, “The value of Saudi donations has currently reached more than $185 million,” highlighting Saudi efforts and those of sister nations to halt Israeli aggression against the Palestinian people and to get several Western governments to recognise the State of Palestine. “This primarily occurred when the Kingdom presided over the ministerial committee, which was formed following the extraordinary Arab-Islamic summit in Riyadh last year.
