Didin’s career did not begin in communications. He studied Nuclear Engineering at Gadjah Mada University, initially hoping to work in nuclear power. When those plans did not materialise, he entered the private sector and later explored teaching and journalism.
By the end of 1999, he had found his way into public relations.
Each stage added a different skill to his professional toolkit. Engineering gave him structured thinking, journalism taught him how to identify and communicate relevant stories, while PR introduced him to reputation, trust, and stakeholder relationships.

Since becoming Co-Founder and Managing Director of Bening Communication in 2008, Didin has helped guide the company through a changing communications landscape.
Initially known particularly for technology PR, Bening has expanded its services across content development, events, digital marketing, social media, KOL and influencer engagement, community engagement, government relations, and crisis and issue management.
The company has also strengthened its use of monitoring, research, data, SEO, and GEO, reflecting the changing ways organisations communicate and engage with their audiences. Bening has worked with more than 150 local and international brands.

Didin’s work today extends beyond traditional public relations.

His advice reflects that experience: “Do not expect a straight career path. Mine certainly was not.”
