As an award-winning leader, Ahmed Mousa has made an impact in the global energy and utility value chain for the past two decades. As an influential voice in the global energy transition, he delivers specialized consulting and training programs to utilities and governments worldwide.
As the CEO of Electric Bridge Consulting, 100% Energy Club, and Di$rupt, Ahmed is transforming the global energy and infrastructure sectors. Offering consultancy that addresses structural pressures effectively, these companies have become trusted names in the industry.
The Beginning
Ahmed Mousa’s journey began over 22 years ago, having worked for four large utilities, all on the East Coast and in the United States. First Energy, Pepco, ConEd, and PSE&G. So, Washington, D.C., New Jersey, New York, and back to New Jersey.
Starting his journey in the education sector over 12 years ago, he taught at NJIT, Rutgers, and Columbia University. He even served on the NJIT board and advised on the future of students’ education in the Electrical and Computer Engineering department.
A decade ago, he began his consulting journey and now owns three consulting firms: Electric Bridge Consulting, 100% Energy Club, and, more recently, Di$rupt, where he provides global consulting across various fields within the energy and education systems. He even served as the utility of the future senior lead, supporting electric, gas, and nuclear energy needs, leveraging his unparalleled utility experience and prominent role at the Energy Control Center in New York City.
“I have also had immense pleasure working with the key groups throughout my career. I sit on over 10 boards, including at IEEE where I serve as the Emerging Technology Advisor and recently, as IEEE Planet Positive Utility of the Future Chair, we’re working globally to help mankind make the planet a healthier place to be.”
Having worked across all the critical groups, field, design, planning, long-range planning, operations, system operations, control center, utility of the future, design, engineering, and even finance, Ahmed brings expertise that is rarely found.
The focus of our consulting firms are to identify current and future industry gaps and bridge those gaps.
Evolution of Ahmed Mousa’s Vision
Over the years, Ahmed’s work evolved significantly. Electric Bridge Consulting offers general energy consulting globally and custom design training across the Middle East, Asia, Australia, Europe, and the United States, expanding its presence in almost all continents. With a strong focus on market research, the company’s vision for the future and insights are unparalleled.

Working in field operations, Ahmed planned the utility of the future, starting from the typical traditional utility, reliability, to resiliency to climate change. He played an active role in developing 100% Energy Club, a company focused on helping nations, governments, and utilities transition to 100% clean, renewable energy systems in a reliable, resilient, and cost-effective manner. Especially in times of major climate change and natural disasters, Ahmed believes they are doing well from that perspective.
Additionally, Di$rupt is Ahmed’s latest company. The company was inspired by Ahmed’s enterprise risk management and equipped global industries with the appropriate strategies and tools to manage current and future disruptors. I have returned from the future with warnings and glad tidings for industries to disrupt first before they get disrupted. 2026 is a transformational year for all industries, and the successful ones will address massive challenges such as the unrest in Europe, the Middle East, cybersecurity attacks, the workforce of the future, AI, and beyond.”
Overall, the three companies have grown significantly globally. And I always say that we’re basically future-proofing utilities and other industries from other disruptors. And then overall, again, our long-term plan is to be the go-to global consulting firm for all the energy needs.”
Embracing the Technological Shifts
Ahmed believes this is the best time to be in the business. The more challenges you have, the more opportunities it attracts. With escalation in Europe and the Middle East, massive retirements, growing load demands, aging assets, and cybersecurity challenges, customer affordability is the prime concern.
Part of Ahmed’s goal was always to engineer politics, and this is the best time. Many utilities are moving from hardware to software. So, he advises them as they move to different management systems, such as DMS, DERMS, ADMS, and beyond. His ventures are here to identify the best-of-class.
All his companies are known for working with an exceptionally sizeable number of vendors. AI is here to help, and he believes in welcoming it. He comments, “We are trying to support AI adoption. It is never the technology or the budget; it is the people. We are here to change people’s minds. And the best way to teach them is to show them what worked well in other locations. All our companies are based out of New York City, one of the smartest and most challenging cities in the world. The valuable lessons learned can serve as a benchmark for others to adopt (if it worked in New York City, it will work elsewhere), and that is the benchmark model we built.
Our firms are unique because we are not dollar-driven; we strive for excellence and exceed our clients’ expectations. We are a unique boutique consultancy whose main motto is “Consulting done right.” We were not established to fit in among other consultants; we were designed to maximize value and transform our clients by bridging gaps and providing honest consulting and foresight. We are not your average consultants.
Global Impact of Ahmed’s Consultancy
All three firms by Ahmed operate globally. Translating all the knowledge and experience of the CEO and Founder to other parts of the world is how he believes he is building the ecosystem. With a strong global presence and sound benchmarking, his companies provide best practices, informing clients what they should do and what they should avoid.
He mentions, “You will be surprised by all the stuff that people do not ask about. We travel frequently, benchmark, research various markets, and focus on the energy cycle: generation, transmission, distribution, and even behind-the-meter. We are blessed with a powerful network on LinkedIn, IEEE, and other entities that reshape industries. Here, we support diverse states with a strong focus on the East Coast. I am a huge fan of the MENA region and have been consulting there for over a decade.
The MENA region strives to break records and set the bar so high, and we are there to support this aggressive and noble goal in a reliable, resilient, innovative, and cost-effective manner by leveraging our experience and proven global consulting track record.
As part of Ahmed’s consulting, he has an idea called “Coming to America.” He has been advising large companies and startups in energy and other sectors, both AI and non-AI, on how to operate in the United States.
In parallel, he is also developing a new entity called “Global Energy Artist,” where, along with his team, he makes a list of the best and go-to subject matter experts globally. And his firm has always been chosen to lead this great work.
“We are here to break records and to ensure that the utility, small or large, will be the most reliable, resilient, and cyber-resilient in a cost-effective manner, while taking innovation to the next step. Again, we are extremely fortunate to be working globally, and we want to maintain that. We want to be part of every country that there is,” Ahmed states.
Message to Beginners
Addressing the young professionals who are finding it challenging to establish themselves in this field, Ahmed shares, “Firstly, do your work. For the young generation, your first 10 years, you should work 24/7. Find a mentor, although there are very few right now. I’ve been very blessed to work with and learn from legends while working at ConEd. Also, attend conferences and boards to gain exposure and expertise. I have been extremely fortunate to sit on over 15 boards that have already helped me become efficient and make executive decisions.
Moreover, understand the utility system and the political climate. Speak out, be a thought leader, talk to politicians, engineers, and operators, shadow seniors who are willing to share their experience, join professional groups such as IEEE, volunteer, etc. Most importantly, be genuine and hungry for knowledge. Be bold:
- There are those who ask for forgiveness.
- Those who ask for permission.
- And others, like us, who provide an offer, they cannot refuse.
When we are young, we are asked what career we seek. And most kids say they want to change or protect the world or become a superhero. I am fortunate that my work is making the world better.
Our consultancy continues to prepare nations for attacks by Mother Nature. One of our superpowers is tailored training and custom courses. We have been empowering employees with the technical skills and leadership traits they need for over a decade. We are not just providing solutions to your most difficult challenges; we are building a legacy via our values.
We are different; we stand out, and we believe that partnering with the right consultant is the best service you can do for your employees and customers.”
