Ministry of Industry Achieves Milestone with 697 Chemical Clearance Applications in February

RIYADH: In an effort to promote industrial investment and the development and extension of industrial facilities, Saudi Arabia’s Ministry of Industry and Mineral Resources handled 697 petitions for chemical clearance in February.

Jarrah bin Mohammed Al-Jarrah, a spokesman for the ministry, stated that 1,758 items were covered by the processed requests, which comprised 668 applications for clearance of unrestricted chemical imports and 29 applications for licenses to import restricted chemicals. According to Al-Jarrah, industrial investors can request import or export permission for chemicals used in industrial facilities through the chemical clearance service.

He stated that applications are submitted via the “Senaei” platform and that the service’s goal is to guarantee that chemical clearances are given in a fast and efficient way, making it easier for commodities to enter ports.

In order to strengthen digital services that assist industrial investors, he underlined the significance of the service in increasing industrial output through the development and simplification of procedures for obtaining clearances for chemicals used in production as well as the automation of these procedures within the industrial sector’s digital services platform.
