According to the Saudi Press Agency, Morocco and Saudi Arabia inked a memorandum of agreement on Friday to strengthen their collaboration in the field of health.
The agreement was signed in Rabat by Moroccan Minister of Health and Social Protection Khalid Ait Taleb and Saudi Health Minister Fahad Al-Jalajel.
According to the source, the MoU addresses therapeutic and preventive medicine, digital health, and pandemic management, with the goal of fostering the growth of health services and the sharing of experience.
According to a statement from Morocco’s health ministry, the agreement called for collaboration in enhancing patient safety and the quality of healthcare, as well as in the early identification and control of pandemics and epidemics and scientific research related to health and medicine. It also makes information sharing in telemedicine easier.
According to a statement made public by the Moroccan newspaper The Barlaman Today, the MoU will also “allow exploring opportunities for collaboration in blood services to ensure the availability of safe and sufficient blood supplies in both countries.”
